In 2013, India’s first comprehensive legislation specifically addressing the issue of harassment at work – The PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace) Law was formulated with the core objective of protecting employees against Sexual Harassment and promising a safe, secure, and dignified working environment for them.

The objective of the act is to create a safe and respectful workplace by prevention and appropriate reporting of incidents.

In accordance with the act, the companies should have a Zero tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and formulate a policy for employees and associates of the company, management, and non-management personnel.

The company should constitute an Internal Committee (IC) for prohibition, prevention, and redressal of Sexual Harassment at the workplace.
